Grade 416 stainless steel is a martensitic machining bar and is highly machinability enhanced by Sulphur and Phosphorus. SS 416 is sometimes used in hardened or unhardened and highly tempered condition, as it has a low cost and is easily machinable. Normally it is always supplied in a form of a bar.
